Samuel Lynne Galleries is pleased each year to host our annual Dallas Arts event with renowned contemporary artist JD Miller on Valentine’s Day! This event is a LIVE painting, which has become a favorite among clients and guests. This date marks the eighth year of this live performance event. Viewers have the unique opportunity to witness Miller’s artistic vision by watching him create a masterpiece right before their eyes. Each year, McShan’s Florist has donated a one-of-a-kind floral arrangement that Miller interprets on canvas. Miller utilizes color, texture, and shape to create a visual experience like never seen before.

In addition, each year audiences have the unique opportunity to become a collector of JD Miller’s iconic oeuvre. Samuel Lynne Galleries annually raffles off a signed copy of JD Miller’s new artist book, JD Miller: Reflections from Dragon Street, in addition to Miller’s sought-after Zen Acrylic artworks. This raffle is commonly a highlight of the event, and Miller makes a point to individually hand the artwork to each receipt, as well as personally sign their copies of his artist book. The evening concludes with this book signing where JD personalizes each copy and meets with attendees. Miller believes that his artwork is heavily connected to the energy which surrounds him, and he wants this annual event to be understood as a massive statement of gratitude to each of our supporters, who with their positive energy, inspire his reflective artwork in Dallas. 

Each year Miller imbues his prismatic work with a spirit of positive energy, love, peace, and joy as a fulfillment of his Reflectionist philosophy. The artwork takes about an hour for Miller to complete, however it is a compilation of over 25 years of experience as a fine art painter. Within Reflectionist, Miller calls upon the universal vibrations of light and sound to flow through him, which allows for the molding of oil paint; a unique process that distinguishes him from other artists. Miller creates impactful, strong, enlivening canvases that take viewers on an existential journey. Miller’s passion for painting and his process for positive energy attracting positive energy translates the law of vibration into the passion emanating from his work.

This annual event is very important to Samuel Lynne Galleries, as we gather as a Dallas Arts community to enjoy in the real-time creation of what makes our lives so interesting, artwork. Open to the public and kid friendly, SLG aims to create a space that harnesses the magic and love of romance, without the requirement of finding a sitter. Miller even creates a special space in the front of the painting stage for kids to gather round and enjoy a front row seat to the magic.
